We went out on a trial run with the Classic Jack 140 into the nearby mountains. 2 people and 2 hounds.
Setup was easy and straightforward and no flaws or defects were noted. Everything worked flawlessly!
Got the rest of camp set up and enjoyed the day, evening and turned in around 9. At midnight, the thunderstorm and wind hit! Wasn’t forecast more than a little “light” rain. Ended up with 2” in the rain gauge and 30mph winds.
That said, most restful night I’ve ever spent outside. Tent held up with no problems, not a single leak, and best of all, we didn’t wake up all clammy like when in a nylon tent, even with all the rain. So far, so good!
Definite improvement over a debris hut!!!
As a family of four (and counting), we love this tent. My wife and I decided to buy quality and we are so glad we did. The tent has tons of room for myself, wife, 1 young child and the pack n play for the baby, and there is more room to grow. The build quality is incredible. You can tell it's build for a life time.
We even had an issue with the tent where Springbar accidentally included the spring bars for the Skyliner. We were rather disappointed since we had planned a weekend trip to try out the new tent. We emailed customer service with pictures and they overnighted the correct bars to us so we could still go on our trip!
Excellent tent and excellent customer service. You will not be disappointed.
The Leisure Port is my first Springbar product and before buying it, I had never even seen a Springbar tent up close. After researching extensively, watching setup videos, and emailing Springbar’s customer service with questions, I decided to take the plunge. Based on everything I learned, I was expecting a high-quality product. The Leisure Port didn’t disappoint.
This is an exceptionally well-crafted piece of gear. The attention to detail is evident in everything from the stitching to the thoughtfully designed carry bags. It’s hard to imagine saying this about camping gear but it’s just a beautiful structure!
I’ve now used the Leisure Port on four trips, totaling seven nights. I use it as a shelter for my swag tent, allowing me to keep the swag tent open regardless of the weather.
Setup was fairly straightforward the first time, though there was a bit of a learning curve. I had to laugh when the instructions said, “Set it up as you would a Springbar tent!”—since I didn’t have a Springbar tent. I even tried to convince my wife that I needed to order a Springbar tent just to learn the setup. That didn’t fly. Yet! Still, by the second time, I had it up in half the time.
There are a few quirks, like the shape of the floor space. Plus I couldn’t understand why people talked about removing the floor—until my first night in heavy wind and rain. Now I check the forecast and remove the floor when rough weather is expected otherwise rain will blow in, get trapped on top of the very durable floor, and pool at the lowest point. On my last trip, I added a 15x15 tarp over the top, and that solved the rain issue completely. It’s now the perfect setup for my needs in any kind of weather.
To “fix” the quirks I mentioned, Springbar would have to turn this into a tent—which would defeat the purpose entirely. As it stands, the Leisure Port is a brilliant, adaptable shelter, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
If there’s one regret, it’s that I didn’t discover Springbar sooner. After years of buying big-box family tents that wore out after about a decade or sooner depending on usage, I now realize it would’ve been cheaper—and much more satisfying—to invest in a high-quality Springbar tent from the start. Based on the quality of the Leisure Port, I’m confident it would still be in use today
Honestly, it took about 1.5 hours to set it up initially. Mainly because 1) I’m dumb; 2) didn’t really read the instructions. Second time it took about 10 min. I seasoned it inside and out, but it hasn’t been tested in the actual rain yet. So far it’s super high quality, fairly easy to set up with one person (but it’s heavy, so don’t underestimate), and super roomy. Can’t wait to put in the wood stove this winter and see how it goes. I shopped ALL the brands and just liked Springbar’s reputation and longevity. I added a Bluetti AC180 for fan, mattress inflation, phone charging, etc and it’s made a huge difference to the camping experience.
Size is perfect and quality is extremely durable. Blocks all ground moisture from hitting tent and is easy to clean. Oversized bag made storage a breeze.
Love this tent. Couple of things in the 6 months of owning and camping with my wife and two dogs. It is by far the best experience I’ve had in a tent. Bought a large winterwell stove. Heats up very quickly in the tent. This last winter we went out and absolutely got dumped on. 1” of rain in 12 hours no rain fly. (Out of stock at the time) the tent held up. Couple of drops is all we got through all night. The only complaint was that the rain was loud. The skyliner has a large roof surface. We now have the rain fly that drastically reducing the noise inside. The wood burning stove is great. Cooked and enjoyed the warmth in below freezing temperatures no problem. But be prepared to wake up every few hours to refill. I am no looking to purchase one of the smaller tents to solo in. If you want to spend time out in any condition this tent is for you!! Love it!
Had for 29 years used over 200 times by family and scouts a lot of times a week at a time still like new it’s worth over 900$ now I’m keeping it. Best damn tent made!
Hands down the absolute best customer service experience of my life - not even close. Thank you to everyone that helped get my leisure port fixed and made the process easy and quick. Amazing, amazing job. Would give 100 stars if I could.
