I have had it up once to inspect and learn about it. It borders on overbuilt. This thing is great. Everything about it is quality. I could live in it if I had to. I do not regret the purchase. I have hopes of using it a lot this fall.
Loving my factory second Skyliner! There’s a small circle of undyed canvas, big deal! I camped in a National forest for 8 days. There were 25+ mph winds, blowing dust and debris, pounding thunderstorms and some nice hail. There Skyliner took it like a champ. I washed it twice and through all of that, not a single drop of water in the cabin! The stakes stood up to rocky soil great, just go slow. I do think the poles could be reversed so water flows over the seam, not into it. I just make sure the adjustment holes are to the inside to help with that. Cutting the Winnerwell vent hole was a breeze. The guy lines worked great. The ground tarp is heavy duty but made in china. I’m ready for some cooler temps to hot tent!
Perfect size, heavy duty, packs down to easy to stow size in its own bag. Cheap insurance for a great tent.
Wow is all I can say. Got my skyliner set it up and seasoned it for our first camp trip in it. Wow,,, it is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Everything is done perfectly on this amazing tent. The skyliner is so awesome to finally have and be able to camp with. We absolutely love this tent. Super easy to set up once u get all the stakes pounded in. It is awesome that they make this tent in the USA! I love that, and am now a proud owner. Our family will love camping, hunting, and fishing with this tent at our side to keep us warm and dry and comfortable for years to come.. thank you springbar. Amazing job
Camped the other weekend in it. And it rained off and on the whole time and the wind got real gusty and we stayed dry as expected. A friend that was there said that he was ordering him one after he seen how easy it was to set up after him and his wife spent an hour setting there tent up.
I admit that I wasn't thrilled about dropping so much on a tent, especially once it arrived in a very large and heavy box. "What have I gotten myself into?!" I even considered returning it but I pushed through and took it on a camping trip on the Washington coast. It took a little bit of time figuring out how to assemble it (note: ignore user video instructions on Youtube that will only confuse you and waste your time) but it was our first time and the printed instructions attached to the bag made perfect sense. Then we went inside and it was just wonderful and airy. I slept so well inside it each night.
I didn't worry about tracking a little dirt/leaves/pine needles inside because the stiff, slick surface of the floor made it so easy to clean.
I love the many windows the CJ100 has. Throughout the day I keep them wide open to let the fresh air in and also to help dry out any moisture that might've accumulated inside and also the morning dew on the outside.
Disassembling the tent was also a learning process because we were careful to fold and roll it up the same way it came packaged. This isn't difficult if you just pay attention to the instructions (and helpful to snap a few photos as you first unpack it). It was so much easier the second and third time.
The "nail" stakes were more than sufficient for grounding the tent on the windy beaches we camped on. These things are so much beefier in person than they look online.
I definitely recommend getting the heavy duty ground tarp; this was crucial in sparing the tent floor from wet dirt and moisture from the drizzle run-off. It took about 15-20 minutes to dry off but then it was fine to fold up (follow the creases to get it to pack just right!) Also, get the StormFly. I didn't order this and realized on the first morning that it is absolutely essential out here in the Pacific Northwest.
Lastly, the super-durable canvas bags the tent and poles come in have handles all over but I only use the bag handles to prop the bags upright so that I can squat down to lift the bags (YES, ONE AT A TIME) onto one of my shoulders. This will spare your hands, wrists, and forearms from so much exhaustion when you're transporting the bags to and from your vehicle.
Perfect size for my requirements! I love the new model that has the zippered storage on the ends. Very Handy. As usual, quality made like all of the other products that I have purchased from Springbar. I highly recommend all of their products!
Have not used this one yet but have a friend that uses one on his. Even comes with storage bag. Will be using it in three weeks and can’t wait
Perfect tent for my needs. Roomy, comfortable, sturdy. Easy to both put up and take down.
A real keeper
