Factory 2nds—a selection of tents graded as a ‘cosmetic second’ by our tent inspectors.
I am so impressed with the quality of my compact tent! The zippers are beefy. The stitching and attention to detail are excellent. The materials are all high quality. The wrinkle that made my tent a "2nds" is cosmetic and barely noticeable. I am thrilled with my purchase.
I recently purchased a Springbar Skyliner tent. The tent and all that came with it are heavy duty and well made. The purchase experience was top notch. Springbar's web site is informative and easy to navigate. I interacted with customer service numerous times and they were outstanding in every respect.
I was very pleased with how attractively the tent and all that comes with it was packaged up. The tent and poles come in sturdy canvas bags with carrying handles at ergonomically perfect spots. The tent bag closes up with a very cool rope. Also included was a heavy duty and attractive canvas tool bag loaded with a ton of wedge tent stakes and guy out ropes. Additionally there were canvas organizers and gear lofts along with a cardboard folder that included all the paperwork I need to set up and take care of the tent.
I buy a lot of outdoor gear and this was by far the best experience I have had. I look forward to many years of ownership of this wonderful tent.
I could not be happier with this purchase!
I got myself this tent just in time for a week-long trip to Joshua Tree National Park. The size is perfect for one person and a dog. Even two people would be comfortable. I was able to fit a Megamat, a small folding desk and a chair with room to spare for a yoga mat for morning exercises. The workmanship is second to none. It was sold as a factory second due to a tiny little flaw in the roof. Nothing meaningful to me. The tent survived intense winds during two nights, with only slightly bent tension bars and a tiny tear in a sleeve to show for it. Customer service immediately sent over a patch kit when I let them know. Is it worth it? Absolutely. If I had taken my normal tent, it would have been undoubtedly destroyed. The Outfitter not only survived, but was very, very comfortable.
It's a wonderfully crafted tent. I found it easy to setup and take down. Though, I failed to return the tent back to the bag. I'm looking forward to many comfortable nights in the traveller.
So nice to have a great time breaking it in. Nothing like PNW mountains under the evergreens in October with a day of rain, high humidity and wind to
see why I love this tent. Nothing beats a springbar, I have had a hand me down family camper for 20 years that my parents got in the 80's. Now my daughter
considers it hers so I had to upgrade to a hot tent. Quality control was awful tight on this tent...not complaining but !! Had a heck of a time finding any issue and
it performed flawlessly as I knew it would.
