Materials: Made with ultralight titanium, the Winnerwell Fastfold Titanium Tent Stove is highly portable and incredibly lightweight at just 4 pounds. Titanium can withstand much higher temperatures than steel, allowing this stove to be made from very thin material that keeps weight and pack size to a minimum. The high heat transfer efficiency of Titanium allows these stoves to effectively heat small shelters in very cold conditions and hold hot coals for hours.
Assembly Tips: The chimney pipe is made from a single sheet of very thin titanium. It rolls width wise for storage and length wise to form the pipe. The first time you roll the pipe into shape can be a bit tricky. However, after the first burn, the fire will heat set the shape of the pipe. So on subsequent uses the sheet will have ‘memory’ of the shape and essentially roll itself into a pipe. The first time you roll the pipe, we recommend using length of 2” PVC pipe as a form, and have someone help you, working from both ends. Simply slide the rings over the pipe approx. every 18 inches to secure the form. Avoid wrinkles and creases in the pipe if possible, as these will be heat-set permanently after the first burn. The same principle applies to the stove body—take care that the stove body is assembled as square and straight as possible prior to the first burn as the stove will also be heat-set.
Warnings & Considerations: The stove body and chimney pipe will become extremely hot when the stove is in use. Take care not to inadvertently come into contact with the stove or pipe, always wear gloves when loading wood into the stove, and always exercise caution and common sense. Careful supervision of children and pets is mandatory when in proximity to the stove to avoid injury. Always ensure proper clearances of at least 18 inches are maintained from the stove to any combustible material, and only use the stove in compatible tents with a fireproof stove jack. Never leave a wood stove burning unattended. User assumes responsibility for the safe use of this wood stove.
Received my Fastfold Titanium stove several weeks ago and did the initial burn in, everything worked as it should and the stove pipe formed well, after the burn the stove pipe rolls in to stove pipe form with little effort. Used the stove in a 6-man tipi for a late season deer hunt, stove lit and burned easy. The reason I purchased this stove (and spent more than similar stoves) was the apparent ease of assembly, no wingnuts to thread on in cold weather etc. The assembly was as easy as I hoped and the quality of the stove is obvious. I would recommend this stove to anyone looking for a lite, simple to assemble and packable stove this is the product for you.
Very well made. Very easy setup. Not like other offerings on the market that require complicated assembly. You don't have loose parts with this stove. And this is exactly what you need. Fast and straight forward assembly without loose nuts and bolts. Very well designed product. I used it with Seek Outside Cimarron shelter in a cold and snowy weather and it is a game changer for me. This stove will be good enough for bigger shelter too. I think it will easily serve six men rated shelter.
Best of the titanium folders
I have owned another brand, and used some others, but this is by far the easiest, quickest, best engineered design for this use on the market. Some other brands may function as well once assembled, but none are as quick, clean and easy to assemble as the Winnerwell. It's expensive, as all specialty products constructed from titanium are. No problem heating my 8 by 10 Snowtrekker canvas tent tested to -17 celcius (0 Fahrenheit) burning pine and spruce. I had no problem using a galvanized 3 inch elbow upside down to redirect the chimney. So well designed that I cannot even suggest any design revisions.
I have had Seek Outside stoves and a Ti barrel stove. This stove is the best I have used. The setup is by far the fastest and easiest of all of my previous stoves. The only draw back is that there is just one size.
stove won't fit in the bag?
Just received, so I haven't used this stove yet, but I have to say I'm disappointed that the stove does not fit in the provided case... the damper lever sticks out far enough that I cannot zip the case shut??
