With the use of extra awning poles and guy ropes (sold separately), portico panels can be guyed out to create a massive shaded area around your tent.

I think anyone who orders a tent with an awning, should purchase the portico panels. They are easy to add, just zip them to the awning and suddenly you have an added outdoor space with privacy. Either as a source of shade from the sun at different times of the day, or rain or maybe campsites that are closer together.
This is a great addition to the awning that is already on my classic jack tent. Went camping and it lightly rained for all two days of my trip. Was great to have the panels for my outdoor kitchen. It kept the wind/rain off of me while I did meal prep. Also added additional storage for my wood to stay dry or just to sit and watch the rain. You won't regret this great add on! Don't forget to buy additional poles so you can change the angle for whatever weather you are having.
The awning is a great feature on the highline8. But when you add the portico panels you add an extra large outdoor room to your tent. You can stake them to the ground for more protection from the weather or add a couple of poles and you have a large area for dining or sitting under the awning area. Great tent and portico.
The product is great and service was outstanding!!!
Adding the Portico Panels to the 10’x14’ spring bar along with a weatherproof folding mat help make a porch. An entrance to the camp home and a small bag to add to the main spring bar bag so it always there. Would definitely recommend the purchase. The storage bag could be a bit bigger cause things rarely get as small as when they’re first packaged.
