After waiting anxiously for the hot tent package to come available, we grabbed one up before they sold out. Shipping was very quick and all the parts and pieces were there and well packaged. Getting the stovejack insert installed was easier than I expected with the provided template. We had hoped to do a trial setup before heading out on a hunting trip but didn't have time, but I felt pretty confident after watching some videos on the Springbar website. Once we got it in the field, setting it up was surprisingly easy for a tent that size--the most time consuming part was getting it staked down in hard frozen ground (make sure you have a claw hammer to pull them out of the ground instead of a mallet like we had). The tent is the perfect size for two cots and all the gear for a week-long hunting trip. The stove was awesome (Nomad large)--morning temps were single digits, and with the stove closed down tight at night there was usually a few coals to help get the fire started in the morning. It would be nice to get a bit longer burn time, but for its size it performed very well, and it's big enough to feed it actual firewood-sized pieces of wood rather than kindling which definitely is a plus. Overall, we're very happy with this tent--while on the spendier side for tents, it's actually pretty economical (and much easier to set up) compared to the alternative of going with a wall tent. I would love to see these made here in the U.S. rather than imported--aside from that, well done Springbar! These tents are proof that modern technological fabrics and designs aren't always better than the tried and true.
