Fully featured with 3 full-height screen windows, integrated shade awning, a spacious 10’ x 10’ footprint, and Sunforger® cotton canvas. Easy to pitch and legendary in harsh wind and weather, a genuine Springbar Traveler is a tent you’ll cherish for years to come.
Cut and sewn by hand in our Salt Lake City, USA workshop
Features/ Specs:
This is the second Springbar tent I have owned, the first went with the former wife. There appear to be some changes made, all for the better, which has caused the prices to increase. That being said, these latest versions are seem to be more "complete" as there are no other items needed, except possibly a ground tarp.
I've woken up to 6" of snow on the roof without issue, been in gale force winter storms in the Big Horn Mountains where the tent was nearly laid flat by the wind, been in storms on Lake Powell where every other tent on the beach was blown away or shredded, and been in everything in between and it never failed.
Springbar has an irritating marketing model whereby one must sit by the computer all day waiting for Springbar to send out emails to everyone waiting to buy one. If you miss the email by an hour or two, the tents are sold out. I don't understand why a simple backorder system couldn't be implemented where one could pay for the tent they wanted and simply wait until their time came up and they received there tent.
As it is, one must wait for weeks to be notified, then hope they aren't too late and that they color they wanted is in stock.
Other than the bad marketing model, these are well worth the wait.
Had the Family Camper model for over ten years, and it's as good new, even after sand storms, thunderstorms, and being pitched in the middle of a flood channel (in retrospect not my best idea). Now we're downsizing to the smaller footprint of the Traveler. I'd have been happy if nothing had changed over the decades, but every difference I see is an upgrade! Can't wait to pitch it in all sorts of ill-advised places.
