I took this tent to the 2023 Blue Ridge Rock Festival and this bad boy outlasted an intense microburst with wind speeds ranging from 60-100mph, lightning, hail, and intense flash flooding from rain. Not only did this tent survive this severe weather with no damage, it kept all of our gear inside the tent safe and dry even without a rain fly! Most people’s tents were either flooded or irreparably broken. This tent is well-made and built to weather intense, severe storms. I can’t recommend it enough!
Its a great product for sure, but the reason I purchased it vs another Kodiak was stated that it was made in the USA. It is however made in China
Love my tent! Took it to NFLD, it has held up to 35km winds, downpours, and held steady, no leaks. I love that it’s not got slanted walls, so you can move around standing up in it. I opened all the windows, get ventilation and view. I am a 56 yr old woman, tenting by myself for the first time, was able to put it up and take it down by myself. Yeah! I would recommend this tent!
My wife and I have used this tent about a half dozen times this summer and are in love. Springbar has made some great design decisions that make for a tent that feels rock solid and is a joy to camp with. I am particularly impressed with the rope perimeter to secure the stake loops - it is such an elegant and sturdy choice. But the overall structure, the large interior space, the attached awning, the oversized windows, the quality of materials, the door design, the simple ties for the awnings, windows, and doors, the numerous hanging loops inside - everything feels like the perfect blend of form and function. We also purchased the portico panels for the awning and highly recommend them, especially with some extra poles and guy lines. We've had a blast setting up different configurations for rain or shade as needed, and they have performed wonderfully. We've even dropped the awning flat and used it as a projector screen to watch movies!
It's hard to find any faults, but I have noticed some minor stitching imperfections. There are two parallel stitches around the entire perimeter of the tent - the top stitch gets a bit wavy in places. There are some loose threads and odd stitches inside the tent. However, this has not impacted our enjoyment of the tent or it's ability to function properly in anyway. It also can sometimes be difficult to stake down on rocky terrain. The four corners in particular must be well staked, and it can be very frustrating when you hit a rock two inches down on the fourth corner and need to reposition the whole tent to avoid it.
I am very impressed with Springbar as a company. We have purchased several accessories for the tent, as well as a couple dufflebags, and everything is exceptional quality. We look forward to upgrading to an American made model in the future, although it seems like this tent will last a lifetime. A canvas tent may not be for you if you need something light and compact, but if you can deal with the size and the little bit of extra care a canvas tent requires I can't recommend a Springbar tent enough.
Found out after 17 years of marriage that the wife does not like small spaces. Luckily I bought the 10x10. She loved it! I can backpack with the best of them, but when it comes to car camping, I will afford myself a few luxuries, Springbar is one luxury I refuse to go without. When you consider the cost of a hotel room, this is the hotel room you keep on using without having to pay. Quality is on point.
