I wanted to go to Kirkhams in Salt Lake to get another tent and found out they had moved and only had a warehouse now so I decided to go there. The store looked like it was closed but I knocked at the door and a gentleman came out and we talked and it just so happened that he had one tent available to buy at the time. He explained all about the tent size and weight and even took me in the room where they were being made. I already had the traveler tent so I knew how great the quality is. I am a 69 year old woman and needed a smaller one for when I have nobody else to help me with setting it up. Great size for 1 to 2 people. Don't hesitate to get the best tent there is. Will last for several generations. I have met people that have their parents tents that are in great shape.

I recently saw a review of a Springbar tent on YT and decided to get one. Honestly I had never even heard of the brand before, but the type of tent seemed ideal for my camping trips, some of which are a week or more. I tried it out at a local campground and here are my comments: It creates a cozy little “room” where I can have a cot, nightstand, camp chair, and bin with my clothes. (I use the Helinox Cot 1 with the leg additions for height. It fit along the 7’ wall perfectly). Not everyone will agree but here is how I did it: I got the footprint, and used that for placement of the tent on a level and smooth spot. Then I put up a tarp to cover the footprint. I positioned the tarp so I had more overhang in the front, in order to have a covered porch out the front door. It poured in the evening and into the night. But I was able to sit outside, and then, for the warm night that it was, have the mesh for the door and window. When I took down the Outfitter in the morning, the tent was completely dry. That saved me a ton of work that I would have had the tent got wet overnight. The tent itself was great. Was very easy for me (a not terribly strong female) to set up and take down. Was very comfortable and pleasing, both inside and out. I could not have been happier

I just got back from a week of BSA Summer Camp and am more in love with this tent than I ever thought possible. It was perfect for one person sleeping on a cot. I used an oversized cot measuring 84.3"L x41.9''W x19.7"H that fit perfectly across the back wall. My Sterilite plastic foot locker went on the side wall next to the cot and doubled as a "nightstand." There was even room for a Luggable Loo in the other corner as we were very, very far from the bathrooms. Airflow from front to back was wonderful with the door and window open and a portable fan worked when the breeze died. I own the Highland 8 and a competitor's version of the Compact but I prefer the Outfitter for one person who wants some comfort and space while camping due to it's lighter packed weight and tall ceiling height. As the Scoutmaster of a BSA girl's troop, I've tried sleeping systems and tents from instant-ups to hammocks and the Outfitter is by far my favorite. The only thing missing is a Stormfly to get a bit of window and door coverage in the rain. Hopefully, they'll be making one for the Outfitter soon.
